EDIT: All of these happened just in time for the organization's FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY. What a wonderful anniversary gift! 😍
OUR VOICES HAVE BEEN HEARD!
August 22, 2019 - This afternoon, Beyond the Breed had the privilege of meeting Mayor Joie Perales to discuss our sentiments regarding the impounded dogs in the city. We were also joined by Dr. Nelcy Garton from the Toledo City Veterinary Office, Atty. Glenn Cavada, and City Councilor Amiboy Perales.
We are happy to inform you that the meeting was productive and promising.
To start with, the dogs in the pound, which are initially scheduled for euthanasia tomorrow, will REMAIN AT THE POUND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. The team will ensure that the dogs are fed properly and are well-taken care of during their entire stay.
On that note, IF YOU WISH TO EXTEND SOME HELP IN FEEDING THE DOGS BY MEANS OF DONATING DOG FOOD, YOU ARE VERY WELCOME TO DO SO. We need all the help we can get at this point.
Both parties also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Agreement pertaining to the proper management of stray dogs in the city. That being said, the organization would like to reiterate that WE ARE NOT AGAINST THE IMPOUNDING OF STRAY DOGS. Instead, we are fighting for BETTER TREATMENT of these dogs and for them to be GIVEN A CHANCE AT LIFE.
Beyond the Breed is looking forward to building a strong relationship with the Toledo City Government in creating a safer environment for both humans and animals alike.
We have received an overwhelming response from dog lovers all over Cebu and even in other parts of the country, expressing their interest in adopting some dogs from the pound. For this, we are so grateful.
As of this writing, there are only 13 dogs remaining in the pound. So, we continue to encourage the owners to please step up and claim your dogs.
For those of you who are still interested in adopting, please send us a private message. We are looking for ways to better communicate with every potential adopter, so please bear with us.
