1st Toledo City Product Fair opens

TOLEDO CITY, 15 NOV 2019: The first Toledo City Product Fair opens today at the ground floor of Toledo City Museum and Public Library.

The City of Toledo in partnership with the Balik Toledo Ladies mounted the two day product fair showcasing the initial products that the City can offer.

"We thanked the Balik Toledo Ladies who uncovered the undiscovered-yet-products of the City, we hope to make this big in the next years to come with our laid out plans for skills and livelihood," according to Toledo City Mayor Marjorie Perales during the ceremony.

The Balik Toledo Ladies Imma King, Bernice Romualdez and Nicola Libre Enriquez, initially made rounds with women and some sectors in the City for products to showcase.

The group's objective is to have something from Toledo which they can tell their friends from outside City and the Philippines.

"We want something which clearly represents and originates from the City," Romualdez said.

For now there are eight businesses and organizations.

The products include eco bricks, products from blueternate flower (tea, puto and juice), organic vinegar, homemade pizza, piaya, peanut products, torta and many others.

The product fair runs until tomorrow.

The opening ceremony was prepared by the City Tourism Office headed by Engr Pilar Canga and Tourism Council head Risa Rafols.

The Bureau of Fire Band headed by Fire Senior Inspector Paul Patrick Laude gave life to the ceremony. (FCC, CAD)
